Jasper Startup has worked as a designer/maker of furniture since 1985 having graduated with a degree in furniture design in 1983. He has also worked as a freelance designer for consultancies such as Tangerine, Paul Priestman and The Division. Since 1990 part of his work has focused on the issue of sustainability and its relationship to design, this led him to study for an MA in Industrial design. He has received international recognition for his work in this area with exhibitions in Italy and the USA and with publications such as the International Design Yearbook and the Eco Design handbook. Recent work has focused on furniture and products for the home for companies such as Gervasoni, Jo Malone, Gordon Russell ltd, 2PM, Heal’s, and Davis Cash.
